COVID Catch Up

The government has announced £1 billion of funding to support children and young people to catch up following the partial school closure caused by Covid – 19. This includes a one-off universal £650 million catch-up premium for the 2020 to 2021 academic year to ensure that schools have the support they need to help all pupils make up for lost teaching time.

The Burgate School has identified two key objectives within the school improvement plan to fulfil throughout 2020/2021 to assist students close any gap caused by the closure.

 Quality of Education

a) Ensure educational gaps in all students’ learning caused by partial school closure have been identified and addressed.

 Behaviour & Attitudes

a.)Actively encourage attendance and engagement in school life for all students post the partial school closure
