The Burgate School Virtual Welcome

“Parents are overwhelmingly positive about the high quality of education and, particularly, the exceptional

level of pastoral care that pupils receive at this school.”

Ofsted 2019

If you’re a Year 5 or 6 parent or are looking for a new educational setting, The Burgate School & Sixth Form has a broad and balanced curriculum with the highest standards of teaching and a fantastic pastoral support system which enables all of our children to thrive, to enjoy their education. and to be valued for who they are.

We hope that our Virtual Welcome will provide an exciting introduction to our school with words from Headteacher, David Pover, who will talk about life at the Burgate.  Head of Year 7, Lisa Mann will provide an overview of the Year 6 transition process to help you to better understand how we support the move to big school. Deputy Headteacher, Katja Gibson will also explain about the curriculum on offer to our students. Head boy, Paul, and Head girl, Izzy, will also say 'hi' and talk a little about their experiences as Burgate students, the other opportunities and support available to all those that study at The Burgate School.

We hope that during this video all of your questions are answered but if this is not the case then please email, with any queries. We will shortly add a FAQs page to this section of the website to address the most common questions that you may have.

Our new school prospectus is also available, you can view this digitally on our homepage or request a copy be sent to you by emailing
