Careers
We aim to make Careers a key part of day to day learning, delivered through every subject as well as through PSHE, trips and visits, and vitally, the students’ own endeavours, networks and initiative, making use of tools and opportunities we provide along the way. We have designed our programme in such a way as to fulfil the government’s Gatsby benchmarks for careers provision.
Careers Lead: Mr M Cakebread
Careers Link Trustee: Mrs J Newbigging
Independent Careers Advisor:
Mrs S Khosla-Malhotra
Work Experience Administrator:
Mrs A Baker
Deputy Head: Mrs H Shering
Our aim is for all students to develop a personal, realistic and aspirational action plan for their future career(s). We want our students to work independently, to research intelligently, and to benefit from appropriate guidance, in order that they will understand their future study and local market career options and grasp the link between their wider studies and the working world. By so doing, and through engagement in meaningful encounters with further and higher education establishments, employers and workplaces, our students will discover successful pathways for themselves as individuals.
Note: whilst we will do all we reasonably can to offer help and advice, students should remember
that they are ultimately responsible for shaping their own careers. Our most successful students
have a fantastic track record of taking this responsibility.
