When can I apply for Sixth Form?
Applications open each year in September, and although we set a closing date we will always welcome an application and/or enquiry, so please complete the online application form or contact us to discuss a possible application. 

What are the entry requirements?
We accept applications from all suitably qualified students. However, our standard entry requirements are six 9-4 passes at GCSE including English and Maths. Grade 6 and above may be required in certain subjects.

Do you have a catchment area?
There is no catchment for the Burgate Sixth Form but please consider how you would travel to and from our site.

We have a comprehensive bus network serving much of the Salisbury area and beyond.

Is there any support available for transport available?

Sixth Form students who are entitled to Bursary support may be entitled to claim a 50% contribution to bus passes.
What happens if I don’t get the grades to do the courses I want to do?
If you have met the standard entry requirements and have been offered a provisional place,

please contact us to discuss the possibilities. 

Is it possible to change my subject choices?
We will always do what we can to accommodate a subject change after you receive your GCSE results or at the start of your studies, based on availability within the course and you having met the entry requirements for that subject.

Do you offer Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver/Bronze Award and if I have already started can I this at The Burgate?
We do indeed offer Duke of Edinburgh. If you have already started then please email our team to discuss this. 

What sport and other enrichment opportunities do you offer? 

We have numerous clubs, societies and enrichment opportunities from sports to creative options and all sorts of things in between! Please visit our enrichment page for more information, find out more on Freshers' Day in the summer term,

I have special educational needs, how would I be supported at The Burgate?

What sort of pastoral care does The Burgate offer its students? 

Ofsted consistently recognise the outstanding pastoral care that we provide for our students. All students have a tutor who will support them through their sixth form journey as well as other dedicated pastoral staff who can

provide more specialist support where needed.
