Core Skills

Curriculum Intent

Our aim is for all students to be able to access the broader curriculum and to embrace the Burgate expectations [be safe, be respectful, be ready to learn]. We want our students, through a range of targeted interventions, to improve levels of literacy and numeracy and to demonstrate high expectations of themselves as individuals. Through collaborative and bespoke learning, we aim to close the gap for Core Skills students and for them to improve their personal organisation, resilience and independence.
