The Burgate School and Sixth Form offers all staff the opportunity to benefit from childcare vouchers, the cycle to work scheme and the loan of a school laptop for specified teaching roles. Induction and in-service training are provided for all staff and there is a special internally run programme for NQTs and another for RQTs, as well as access to a wide range of CPD through our Teaching School alliances and beyond.

Teacher of Hospitality & Catering and/or Textiles
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented teacher of Hospitality & Catering and/or Textiles for September 2021, who is able to teach Hospitality & Catering and/or Textiles across all key stages. This post would suit a highly motivated newly qualified teacher, or experienced practitioner. There is the possibility of responsibility for a suitable candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to join a dedicated and highly successful department in a thriving school which was rated ‘good’ by Ofsted in May 2019 with the Sixth Form graded as ‘outstanding’. These are voluntary roles, an opportunity to bring your corporate and/or charity governance, educational and business/commercial expertise and skills to the board.

Exam Invigilators & Lead Exam Invigilators
Required for training in readiness for Summer exams.
Salary: Exam Invigilators: £9.20 per hour.
Lead Exam Invigilators: £9.20 per hour plus £10 per exam where they assume the role of Lead Exam Invigilator.
Hours: As necessary
We are seeking to appoint Invigilators to join our friendly exams team. You will support students through the examination period. The hours will vary and will be based around your availability. Interested in a career in teaching?
The school works with a number of teacher training institutions to provide opportunities for trainee teachers. This is both through the PGCE route working with Southampton and Portsmouth Universities, as well as through the Schools Direct training route with Bitterne Park and Ringwood Teaching Alliances.
